The Advanced Tactics mod tries to alleviate this by adding new conditions and changing the way pre-existing conditions work. For example, there are new conditions which check to see if debuffs are active on a target and conditions concerning the number of opponents which are dead or alive. A particularly ingenious planner could create some very elaborate battle plans using this system.
The Advanced Tactics mod is not just for condition settings, however. It also modifies the AI in ways everyone can appreciate. One of the most important is the modifications it makes to auto-attack behavior. Character in Dragon Age have an annoying tendency to 'forget' their attack orders against enemy targets from time to time, and the Advanced Tactics mod changes that behavior for the better. It is worth downloading for that alone.

The first time I played Dragon Age: Origins was on the Xbox and I had a hard time getting into it because of the crappy graphics. Well, I recently tried the PC version and discovered that OMFG THE GAME IS AMAZING WHEN YOU MOD IT TO DEATH! I highly encourage a playthrough with these mods if you haven’t done so already. Here is my list of the 31 best mods you never knew you needed (but now you can’t live without):
9 Mods for Better Gameplay
1. JB3 Textures
This mod gives HD textures to the whole game and makes DA much more beautiful. If you only download one mod, this should be it.
2. Dragon Age Redesigned
This mod redesigns over 500 NPCs in the game to make their appearance better. You can choose to change them based on Lore (characters redesigned to fit their races better) or Aesthetics (characters redesigned to be more attractive) or a combination of both. It also includes an optional Morrigan morph that makes her look more like her original face model (ie. super gorgeous).
3. Skip the Fade
Ugh, I hate the Fade. If you’re like me and just want to get on with the story, this is the perfect mod for you. It allows you to skip the boring parts of the Fade and go directly to your follower’s dreams and then fight the demon with all the Fade transformations already unlocked. You also get all the item drops using this mod, too!
4. Lock Bash
This lets any class unlock chests using strength or magic. This is great because I find the Rogue class rather useless in DA and hated having to take one with me.
5. Extra Dog Slot
Let’s you take your Mabari war hound as a 5th companion. Super useful.
6. Madd Gift Guide
You know when you have a gift in your inventory and have no idea who to give it to? This mod solves that problem by listing the appropriate gift receiver in the item description.
7. No Helmet Hack
This hack makes your helmet invisible unless you’re in a battle. Crucial if you want your character to look anything other than ridiculous during conversations.
8. Advanced Tactics
This mod expands your options for follower tactics so that you can improve your battle strategy. Super useful and allows your followers to make more intelligent tactical decisions.
9. Auto Loot Mod
Automatically adds items to your inventory when you’re looting – saves so much time and effort!
3 Mods for Better Character Customization
1. Pineappletree’s Vibrant Colors
Adds a bajillion new color options when customizing your character’s looks.
2. Hairstyle Day
Someone ported some beautiful hairstyles from The Sims to Dragon Age and they look great!
3. Whiten Teeth
Tired of your character looking like they’ve been chewing on dirt? This mod fixes the teeth for every character in the game.
7 Mods for Better Romances
1. Ser Gilmore NPC & Morph
This mod is amazing! It allows you to add Roland Gilmore as a follower (he is in the Cousland intro if you don’t remember him) and includes fully voiced banter and conversations, as well as the option to romance him. This mod is super well-done and feels as complete as any built-in follower storyline/romance. I like to pair it with the Handsome Ser Gilmore Morph to make the character better looking, because his default is a little homely :) You should also download Ser Gilmore’s First Night for a touching romance scene when you finally sleep with him.
2. Improved Romance Scenes
This allows you to do other things with your LI besides kiss them or have sex with them. You can give them a hug or spend quiet alone time under a tree and stuff – you know, normal things you would do IRL.
3. Better Sex Cutscenes
Bioware is a master at delivering epic romances … with awkward sex scenes. This mod allows you to change those sex scenes according to your taste for the explicit – you can choose from medium, mild and zesty (you can guess which one I picked!). NSFW
4. Rendezvous at the Tavern
Allows you to do more sexy times with your LI at the Gnawed Noble Tavern in Denerim – NSFW
5. More Options at the Pearl
Allows to do more sexy times with a whole range of NPCs at the Pearl in Denerim – literally, dozens of strange combinations that are often quite funny – super NSFW
6. Dahlyialynn’s Sleep Until Dawn
This mod allows you to sleep with your LI or Mabari in camp and wake up the next morning to daylight. Lots of cuddling involved in this one.
7. Realistic Look for Natural Bodies
This mod allows you to choose nude options for your character and followers – way better than the default granny panties or the standalone Natural Bodies mod. My favorites are the Theseus mod for men and the Seductress mod for women (if you opt for full nude, you can even choose what cup size you want for women and what penis size for men!).
3 Mods Just for Fun
1. Dance Party
These dances are hilarious! This keeps in the Bioware tradition of super awkward dancing and there are dozens of different combinations you can see.
2. Slap Morrigan
Sometimes Morrigan can be a bitch and sometimes I just want to slap the shit outta her. Someone out there made a mod to make my dreams come true.
3. A Little Leg
This makes all armor in the game a little more revealing to the degree of your taste. I like this mod because it’s not over the top sexual – it provides just the right amount of eye candy.
9 Mods for if You Love Alistair
1. Alistair Morph
This is the perfect mod if you want to enhance Alistair’s good looks without altering his fundamental appearance. Very subtle but makes all the difference.
2. A Hero’s Sacrifice
This adds a scene if your Warden/Alistair kills the Archdemon and dies.
3. Alistair’s Funeral & Funeral Kiss
This adds a much need funeral scene if Alistair kills the Archdemon and dies. The kiss version adds a scene where Alistair imparts a goodbye kiss at the Warden’s funeral if she dies after killing the Archdemon.

Makes taking Alistair’s virginity super special :)

This mod works in conjunction with the Sleep Until Dawn mod – if you go to bed in camp with Alistair a second time, he will awake one night with a nightmare – beautifully edited and emotionally charged scene that fits seamlessly within the main storyline.
8. Dahlialynn’s The Royal Wedding
This mod shows the Warden and Alistair’s wedding during the Epilogue – a gorgeous and lengthy production :)

I will be continuing to edit this thread to add new mods as I find and try them out. Mods added more than a week after the original post will be indicated like this.
Important programs:
Game Play and Environment:
Improved Atmosphere - Thanks /u/cirion5! Important Note: Imrpoved Atmosphere can sometimes cause missing thumbnails. The fix for that can be found here. Thanks to /u/Ganrao for pointing this out.
Dragon Age Redesigned – Adds a lot of environmental changes, and updates some of the weirder faces in the game, as well as makes small changes to more accurately reflect events and dialogue. Several variants available.
Character Respecialization - Adds a raven to most areas with free respec potions.
Lock Bash - Bash through locks on chests and doors you can't pick.
No Helmet Hack - Hide helmets for your party.
Beyond Ferelden Chest - A storage chest for your party camp.
Sleeping Tent – A tent for your Warden in camp. Note: This appears to spawn in the same location as the chest, which render one or both unusable. I would pick and choose between this mod and the Beyond Ferelden Chest.
Skip the Fade - Gives you all the same stat points, etc. All you have to do is run through the companion and final cutscenes/fights.
Forced Deathblows - Because deathblows are awesome. Can also be used to turn off deathblows almost completely.
Auto-Loot - Screw the dialogue box.
Awakening in the OC - Adds the essential features of Awakening to the base game. I would not recommend this for beginners. It's very easy to mess up your game and likely has a slough of comparability issues.
Sleep Until Dawn - Lets your Warden go to bed (including some interaction with your love interest), and creates a Dawn state for camp.
Beat the Hell out of Howe - For all your Human Noble vengeance needs.
Game Fixes (There are many, but these are the ones I use):
Dialogue Tweaks - Fixes some dialogue options that are slightly not contextually appropriate and adds in responses that should really be in the game, fixes some references.
Two Spec Sten - Because he somehow only gets one Specialization point.
MADD Gift Guide - Adds a notation of the intended companion for preferred gifts. Be warned: it spoils the identity of the Mystery Companion if you've never finished the game before.
Make Console Commands Visible - Some mods and game bug fixes require you to type things into the console, but the console is naturally invisible, which causes some problems. This will let you see the console text. Make sure you also grab the linked fonts.erf file.
Advanced Tactics - Fixes and deepens the tactics system.
Combat Tweaks - Smooths out skills and makes them balanced. Makes some of the more terrible skills actually useful.
White Teeth - Because some of the teeth textures are really distracting.
Symmetrical Massive Armor - This mod was actually made by our very own /u/svk151! Lets you pick one shoulder style and one glove style for the Massive armor.
Effects Handler - Includes quite a few handy tweaks and removes effects out of combat.
Extended Gameplay:
Baldur's Gate II Redux - Irenicus' Dungeon from Baldur's Gate II. Huge, amazing mod.
Alley of Murders - 'Experience the dangerous underbelly of Denerim's streets by investigating a series of murders that will see you battle thieves, murderers, darkspawn and more.'
Dark Times - Act I - 'A search for a cure to the eventual death sentence that comes as a result of the Joining leads the Grey Warden to the Confederacy of Malkuth, a loose collection of city states which exists south of Ferelden, beyond the Uncharted Territories.' NOTE: This is a torrent file, you will need a program to open it, such as uTorrent. Look for the required file under the 'Files' tab, labeled Torrent Dark Times Act One v1_07.rar
Quests and Legends (Thanks /u/Shabutaro!) - HUGE game extension, and apparently extremely well done, including full voice acting.
Create A Character Enhancement:
Vibrant Colors - Adds a ton more colors for hairstyles and eyes, as well as a bright white tattoo color that kinda glows.
Tucked Hair - Most vanilla hairstyles, now tucked behind the ears.
LOTC Hairstyle Collection - You can see some images under 'discussions.'
Armor:
The Phoenix Armory for Females - Has some game-breaking stats and are available extremely early on, but it has three levels of stats (including a very limited set available at Ostagar). And, they're lovely. Females only.
Dusk Mage Robes - Again, game-breaking stats, though there is a version with milder stats, they're still pretty over powered.
Ivory Tower and Nightfall Bloom - For your Arcane Warrior.
Underworld Armory - Adds some more armors to the game, armor models originally from an Oblivion mod.
Wings of Velvet Mage Robes - Thanks /u/cirion5!
HSLI Sexy Mage Robes (NSFW) - These are not lore friendly, but some people really like these, and they are very well animated.
HSLI Sexy Outfits (Semi-NSFW) - More lore friendly (but not by much).
Download game naruto online terbaik. HSLI Revenant Armor - Allows you to wear Revenant Armor. Semi-NSFW version available.
HSLI Darkspawn Armor - Allows you to wear Darkspawn armor. SFW.
Companion and NPC Appearance Tweaks (there are MANY but these are my favorites):
Sacred Ashes Companions - Updates Morrigan, Leliana, and/or Sten to more closely resemble their appearance in the Sacred Ashes trailer.
Morrigan Sacred Ashes Robes - Replaces Morrigan's armor with her kickass trailer armor. Especially useful if you're not a fan of her vanilla, cleavage-heavy robes, but want to keep her looking unique.
DA2 Flemeth and Isabela in DA:O - If you are bothered by the huge redesign they did on these characters but prefer the DA2 models, or just want some consistency.
Armor of the Devout - New armor specific to Leliana available at the site of Andraste's Ashes, with an extra, similar set for Zevran or your rogue PC.
Armor of the Sten - Special armor for Sten, found in Lothering.
Tranquil Tattoos - Replicates the forehead tattoos present on Tranquil mages in DAII.
DA2 Style Qunari in DA:O - Works on Sten, too.
Grey Wardens of Ferelden - Replaces the armor of every Grey Warden in the game with a class appropriate version of the Grey Warden armor from DA2, and spawns a class-appropriate set in your inventory upon joining the Wardens. It even changes the armor of every warden in the Soldier's Peak DLC. Extremely well done, but as far as I can tell, all the armor is low level. There are also weapons in this mod.
New Companion:
Ser Gilmore NPC - Someone went through and completely fleshed out Ser Gilmore from the Human Noble origin to make him a companion. It's not voiced by the same actor for the rest of the game, but the sheer effort required is amazing.
Ser Gilmore for Awakening is also available. With continuity.
Karmas Origins Companions - Lets you recruit pretty much anyone, ever.
Dog:
Extra Dog Slot - Adds your dog as a permanent, summonable companion, much like in DA2. Makes the game a bit easier.
Dog Gifts Tweak - Dog's approval is pretty much stuck at +100, making gifts useless. This mod makes each gift add stats instead.
Mabari Recolors - Make your best friend fashion forward.
Extended Dog Talents - When you reach a high enough level, you run out of talents for Dog. Now you won't.
Romance Expansions (Note: by romance I don't mean the sex cut scenes, I mean more meaningful interactions and extended story points):
Extended Zevran Romance - Lots of small extended scenes.
Extended Alistair Romance - More small scenes, including a special scene for each origin. Very sweet.
More visible Alistair kiss - Because seriously.. his armor is huge.
Cullen Romance Option - A very well done mod, if you wanted to follow up on hitting on Cullen as a mage. Adds a scene when you first see him, when you leave, and during Broken Circle.
Free Love - Allows females to romance Morrigan, though be warned: she will refer to your character with male pronouns, and she will still proposition you for the dark ritual, allowing you to lesbian conceive. Also allows for males to romance Alistair, but again, he will refer to you with female pronouns. This affects party banter, too.
Polygamey - Allows you to romance anyone and everyone (this is all four available romances, if you use the previous mod). No jealousy. Allows the threesome/foursome with Isabela, even if companions aren't hardened.
Alistair's Nightmare - This is a companion mod for Sleep Until Dawn, and requires that mod for this to work. Adds an extremely well done cutscene to the game, triggered after certain conditions are met.

It's possible! 2010-02-21 (Backup your game first by making a copy of the Bioware folder in My Documents)
So you made your character, but there's something you don't like about it. Use these steps to remake your character from scratch.
Download and install the toolset http://dragonage.bioware.com/toolset
Open Dragon Age Origins.
Load the save game you last played of the character you want to change the face / appearance of. Make a new save, name it 'changeface', then exit the game.
Make a new character of the same race and sex as the character in the 'changeface' game. Make the name be 'MyFace'. Pick out the new way you want it to look.
Tip: If you want to use the face of a character you already have to put on a different character, you can do that too, just follow the steps below about changing the game files and skip the steps about creating a new face.
Tip: You can download extra hair colors http://www.google.com/search?q=Pineappletrees+Vibrant+Colors and http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=555
Tip: Take screenshots of the sliders when creating the character, this will help you tweak it further if you don't like the appearance of your new creation.
Start the game of the new character. Check to see if you like the face.
Tip: You can run up to a solid object, then move the 'camera' to be right in front of your face (between you and the wall) and it will zoom in close on your characters face.
If you don't like the face, delete the character, and start again (work off the screenshots of the sliders to get that tweak just the way you want it).
Once you like the face, save the game as 'newface' then exit the game.
If you have a slow computer, you may need to Quit the Dragon Age game so the computer doesn't run out of memory when loading the game files from the toolset.
Open the toolset (Start>All Programs>Dragon Age Origins>Dragon Age Toolset)
We will first open the save game 'newface' and copy the part of the file that has the appearance (called 'MORPH' in the file), then we'll delete that out of 'changeface' and paste it into the same place.
File>Open File = My DocumentsBiowareDragonAgeCharactersMyfaceSavesSlot_1newface.das
Click the little plus ( + ) signs to expand them on these items:
+SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR
++SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR
Scroll down to find a line called: SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH
Right click SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH and choose 'Copy'. We are 'copying' the face from this saved game.
Tip: If your computer is slow, do File>Close before opening the second saved game.
Now we open our other character so we can 'paste the face' into it.
File>Open File = My DocumentsBiowareDragonAgeCharacters

Click the little plus ( + ) signs on:

Find the line that says SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH right click it and choose 'Delete'. (slower computers will *choke* for a moment)
Scroll back up to the line SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR right click it and choose 'Paste'. (again, on a slower computer it will look like it's crashing, give it a moment)
File > Save
File > Close
File > Exit
Open Dragon Age Origins. Load the 'changeface' save. You should now see the face you've created. Run around for a little bit, maybe move to a new zone or two, try going into combat, if everything looks good, save it as 'twitterimkilo'.
Now just play the game as normal, and enjoy the face you always wanted!
